Unable to access network drive

Symptom

When attempting to access the network drive you are presented with the error:

"Network resource is not accessible. You might not have permission to use this network resource. Contact the administrator of this server to find out if you have access permissions."


Environment

Microsoft file explorer


Cause

Your network credentials have become corrupt or deleted. This may be caused by a recent migration or update to your operating system.


Resolution

To resolve your issue you must authenticate this network resource via the control panel. 

Follow these steps:
1. Open Control Panel
2. Select User Accounts
3. Select Credential Manager
4. Select Windows Credentials
5. If you see the network resource you are trying to access you can select the entry and edit the username and password to be correct.
6. If you do not see the network resource it must be added. Select Add a Windows Credential
7. Enter the network address, username, and password and select OK.

You will now be able to connect and map to this network resource.
